Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. at Dunn's Grove Baptist Church for James Erman Kimrey, 58, of 519 Edgemont Street, Albemarle, who died Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at his home after two years of declining health.
Prior to becoming ill he worked at Wiscassett Mills Company where he was a member of the 45-Year-Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II.
Born March 5, 1913, he was the son of the late John M. and Lantie Dunn Kimrey of Stanly County.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Cula Coble; one son, James R. Kimrey; one daughter, Mrs. Robert I. Burris, both of Albemarle; two brothers, Lane Kimrey of Richfield and Wistar Kimrey of Biscoe; one sister, Mrs. Ardis Carpenter of New London; and six grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Rev. Leander Horne and Rev. Gerald Lanier with burial following in Fairview Memorial Park.
