SPRINGFIELD, IL - Edith F. "Edie" Gilman, 83, of Springfield, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
Edie was born July 28, 1931, in Waverly, IL, the daughter of the late Thomas and Iona (Baggerly) Stanberry.
She married Raymond Gilman on Nov. 5, 1949, in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Surviving Edie are five children, all of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Phyllis) Stanberry of Ashmore, IL; sister, Delores (Bela) Sator of Mechanicsburg; as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.
Edie was also preceded in death by a sister, Iva Tuttle.
Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, IL 62711, is in charge of arrangements. A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Paul Hemenway will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
