Mr. Robert Lindell Sims, 51, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P. M., Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton with burial to follow at Matthews Cemetery, Lake City.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P. M., Thursday at the funeral home prior to the services. The family will also receive friends at the home of his brother, David Sims, 2381 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Mr. Sims was born on May 3, 1963 in Charleston, SC, son of Evelyn Marie Miles and the late Doffer Lindell “Water Boy” Sims. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and was a carpenter. Robert served for 6 years in the South Carolina Army National Guard, and loved his family, the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and playing basketball.
Surviving are his mother of Pamplico; daughter of Parrottsville, TN; grandson of Parrottsville, TN; brothers Sims of Turbeville, Olanta, Johnsonville and Olanta; sister of Lake City; stepsister of Turbeville and of Lake City; stepbrother of Lake City and Darlington; sister-in-law of Lake City; a special dear friend of Florence and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Marie Stroud, stepfather, Hubert A. Miles, Sr. and stepmother, Lucille Sims.
