Ruth S. Fagan, 91, formerly of South Market St., McVeytown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, January 31, 2015, at Ohesson Manor.Born Nov. 26, 1923, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Reitz) Coleman.Her husband, Lloyd E. 'Lefty' Fagan, whom she married Oct. 23, 1947, preceded her in death on May 5, 2005.Surviving are: a son, Robert L. Fagan and wife, Susan, of McVeytown; a daughter, Karen K. Ahern and husband, Daniel, of Lewistown; a sister, Helen Ingram and husband, Robert, of Lewistown; and four grandchildren, Laurel Pecora, Adam Ahern, Wade Fagan, and Colin Ahern.She was preceded in death by five siblings, Margaret Kauffman, Eva Kauffman, Richard Coleman, Raymond Coleman, and Paul Coleman.A graduate of Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing, she was employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital for many years, and retired as director of nursing at the Malta Home in Granville.Ruth was a member of the Ryde Otterbein United Methodist Church, and was an avid Phillies fan.A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Pastor Ivan Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Ryde United Methodist Church, 80 Ryde Rd., McVeytown, PA 17051.
