On January 20, 2015, Patricia Elaine Morgan, 86, of Boise passed at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Patty, a constant scholar, lived a full life of love, service and quiet dignity. She was the precious daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Wm. G. Bolander, beloved wife of Dr. Clayton C. Morgan and adored mother of her four children: Cathleen Marie, Clayton Michael, Frank William and Thomas Craig. An Idahoan by birth, her earliest memories were of living in the silver mining town of Burke, in a canyon so narrow that the train tracks went through the middle of the town's finest hotel. Growing up in Lewiston, Patty was a prodigious student all through her school years. She was a member of the Honor Society; nominated for the DAR candidate for the annual pilgrimage to Washington DC; Jr. Prom Princess; twice the Sec. / Treas. of the Student Body; Sr. Class Representative and active in Drum & Bugle as well as the L-Cube. In her senior year, she was installed as Queen of Job's Daughter, Bethel No. 20, and, as the "Second Madame Curie," Patty led the Science Club as President.Matriculating at the University of Oregon, it was meant to be that Patty met her future husband, Clay Morgan in chemistry class. Patty and Clay married during their 1947 Christmas Break. Upon Clay's graduation from medical school in Portland in 1952, the family had grown to four. Two more sons were welcomed, at Mather Field near Sacramento, California, and in Nyssa, Oregon. In 1959, the family moved to Boise where they flourished. While raising their children, Patty attained her B.A. in English and Library Science at Boise State University, and Clay practiced family medicine with his trusted partner, Dr. Quentin L. Quickstad.Pursuant to her request, family services were held at Hilltop Cemetery in Nyssa. A Celebration of Patty's life will be held this summer in Boise, Idaho. To share memories with the family please visit Patricia's memorial webpage at www.cloverdalefuneralhome.com.
