Alvin S. Bennett, 62, of Sherman Oaks, CA and Joiner, AR, died Wednesday, March 15, in Sherman Oaks. He was president and owner of Benwood Farms and Liberty Records. He became the namesake for one of the characters in the Chipmonks recording act.

In 1964 he purchased High Cream Records and was presented the Memphis Key to the City. He also was names1964 Arkansas Man of the Year. He was a World War II veteran.

Mr. Bennett, the husband of Cathleen W. Bennett, also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Adalah B. Shaw of Joiner, AR, and seven grandchildren.
Burial in Bassett Cemetery.
