The person who had this headstone made, knew what they were doing to have this stone created.
The name "Steele------Robberson" is for two different people; mother and daughter.
The mother daughter internment represents Docia P Steele and Lillian S Robberson.
Docia P Steele is Docia Presley Steele (Minnie Eudocia Presley Steele) and Lillian S Robberson is Lillian Steele Robberson.
Since the headstone is spelled in this manner, the memorial should be represented in this manner, as this is the correct way to represent "who" is in the grave with the names and spelling on the headstone marker.

This Steele family IS not be related to the Presley ancestor "Martha Jane Wesson Presley Steel", with no "e" on the end of Steel. Joshua Steele is NOT of the William Steel lineage.

Docia is the sister to my great-grandfather, Noah E Presley, and daughter of Rosella Presley, my great-great grandmother. I heard my grandfather refer to her as "Doshie". Some, actually, most of my information is derived from family records.

In the 1900 US Census, Beat 1, Pleasanton Precinct, Township 9, Itawamba Co., Mississippi, United States, Rosella Presley had a daughter named Minnie E, born 1889, age 10, and the family was living next door to Joshua Steele.

Minnie Eudocia "Docia" Presley was married to Joshua Taylor Steele 2 AUG 1903, his second wife.

If you go to Joshua's memorial, there are newspaper article clippings posted and attached. The Presley family does not agree with the quotes and / or mis-quotes by Docia, or made by her daughter Lillian as Lillian was quite an elderly person (78 as quoted) at the time of the interview and Docia was already deceased (1983), and not quoted in this 1984 article, regarding her mother, Rosella. The information stated in these articles are not true or accurate.

In one article, Lillian is quoted as having special memories in the first paragraph and in the next paragraph states he died when she was very young and she doesn't remember him that well or anything about her father being in the war in 1862, which was roughly forty years before she was born.

The article dated 30 MAY 1976 references Mrs. Steele giving acreage to the second wife, however, she "WAS" the second wife! The last photo/article is not dated but lists Docia Steele as 98 years old. Docia died at 96 years of age. Again, these articles are romanticized and do not represent accurate facts.

In the 1910 US Census, Pleasanton, Itawamba Co., Mississippi, United States, Docia, age 22, is married to Joshua Steele, age 65, with three children; Georgia, Lilliam, and Wygul.

In the 1920 US Census, Pleasanton, Itawamba Co., Mississippi, United States, Docia is the head of household, 32, and widowed, with four children; Georgia, Wiggul, Gracie, and Carrie.

In the 1930 US Census, Beat 1, Itawamba County, Mississippi, New Red Bay Road, Improved Dirt, Docia is 41, head, widowed, with three children present; Lillion, Carl and Moraine, granddaughter. The children's names are misspelled in this and the previous census records.

In the 1940 Census, Beat One, Pleasanton, Itawamba Co, Mississippi, United States, Docia is the head of household, 51, and widowed, living with her are her daughter, Lillian, 33, Maxine, 15, granddaughter and Dolton, 7, grandson. Docia uses the last name Steele in 1940 and her daughter, listed on the census, had the last name of Robinson, not Robberson, mostly likely due to a handwriting issue.

Docia never remarried. In later years, Docia is believed to have resided in Golden, Itawamba Co., Mississippi, USA per the obituary of step-son Noonan Sumpter Steele, 1968.

Joshua's first wife, NOT Docia, was buried at the end of the road where they lived and worked on their farm, per one of the articles posted on Joshua's F/G Memorial.

There is a Steele Cemetery near Fulton, Fairview, MS.
There is a house listed at 737 Robberson Road, Itawamba County, Fulton, MS and as of 2019, the house is still standing. Thus the name Robberson may be the accurate name and not Robinson.
