Anna C. Spencer, age 90, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at Season's Hospice at Christiana.
Anna was born in Wilmington, daughter of Willie Hunt and Lillian May Cross. She was a graduate of P.S. duPont High School, Class of 1943 and was a lifelong member of The Cathedral Church of St. John. During World War II, she worked at Bellanca and retired from Strawbridge and Clothier. She was devoted to her children and family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Ford S. "Jerry" Spencer; her siblings, William E. Cross, Gladys C. Holzer, Margaret C. Adkinson, Edith C. Hahn, Harry D. Cross, Doris C. Wiberg and her son-in-law Lawrence Fisher, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jerry Ann Fisher and son David Darryl Spencer (Valerie); her sister, Frances C. Hanby; grandchildren James L. Fisher (Deb), Craig L. and Linette Fisher and Deanna B. Fisher (Rob); great grandchildren Jesse J. Czarnota, Robert P. Mcgonigle, Jr., Lisa Marie Fisher and Amber Lynn Mcgonigle; and one great great grandson, Cooper Walls Czarnota.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday February 4, 2015 at Christ Church Christiana Hundred, 505 E. Buck Rd., Greenville. Interment will follow in the Garden of Praise. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Season's Hospice, 220 Continental Dr., Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713 or Disabled Veterans of America, DAV Service Office, 1601 Kirkwood Hwy., Room 27, Wilmington, DE 19805.
