Anna Belle Baskette was the daughter of

William Dodge and Claris (Cook) Seeley, born on Nov. 28, 1922, southwest of Golden City, Mo. She passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at 9:35 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, in Lockwood, Mo.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Seeley. Anna Belle shared 92 years and two months with us.

Anna Belle attended the Prairie Home School until transferring to Golden City, and graduating with the class of 1942. After attending a few months of business school in Carthage, she was employed for four years with the Conservation Department in Jefferson City, Mo. Anna Belle also worked in St. Louis and Springfield, Mo., before returning to Golden City. She worked at Cooky's Café until Leon Billingsley asked her to be secretary at the Golden City School District. She retired in 1994, after 39 and 1/2 years as the secretary to the Superintendent and Board of Education.

Anna Belle belonged to the Civic Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Golden City. She enjoyed bingo and Bible study while residing at the nursing home.

Anna Belle is survived by her daughter, Sue Hines; and husband, Royce, Golden City, Mo.; her sister, Beth Bastin, Jasper, Mo.; her grandchildren, Curtis Hines and wife, Jennie, American Canyon, Calif.; and Tiffany Erickson and husband, Dan, Carthage, Mo.; her great-grandchildren, Justyn and Caitlin Hines; and Steven Erickson, nephew; Robert Bastin and wife, Kathy, Golden City, Mo.; and niece, Robyn McDowell and husband, Bill, Jasper, Mo. Many other relatives and friends fondly remember this wonderful lady.

Services will be Monday, Feb. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, in Golden City. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the I.O.O.F. First Christian Church Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
