Ethel Anderson funeral is Wednesday
ST. CHARLES ---- The funeral for Ethel F. Anderson will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in St. Charles, with the Rev. Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles.
Mrs. Anderson, 70, of St. Charles, a retired teacher, died Sunday (June 25, 1995) in the emergency room of St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Ehtel F. Turner was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Chatfield, grew up there and graduated from Chatfield High School. She graduated from Winona State College with education degrees in music, art and physical education and later earned a certificate in special education. On July 7, 1946, she married Leonard Anderson in Winona and they made their home in St. Charles. Mrs. Anderson taught in Dover, St. Charles and Lewiston schools before her retirement. She also taught piano and organ for many years. She was a member and past worthy matron of the Sunshine Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Charles, a member of the Women of the Moose, and a member and past commander of the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jim of Rochester and Brad of Round Rock, Texas; two daughters, Sharon Anderson of St. Charles and Jan Swanson of Fort Collins, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Don Turner of Chatfield. Two sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Hoff Funeral Home in St. Charles and an hour before the service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Charles United Methodist Church.
