Wesley married Elizabeth R. Brawley on 25 March 1858. According to the Athens County Death records, Wesley died of a fever at the age of 42y, 9m, 29d. His tombstone has his wife's name "Elizabeth" engraved, but Elizabeth married Dorcus Wheeler in 1879 and is buried at the Sugar Camp Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.
Wesley and Elizabeth's children all grew to adulthood, married and had families of their own. They were: Wesley Addison, Warren Ephram, Carlos Brawley (Charles on birth record), Nettie May, and John A. Tippie. Nettie married John Hughes, Jr. and a few years later Edward H. Birkhead. Nettie died the day after her son John E. was born and she is buried at the Sugar Camp Cemetery where her mother and step-brother Frank Wheeler are buried. Wesley's son, Wesley Addison Tippie, 1860-1945, is the only memorial I have not found. He eventually moved from Iowa to California. His second wife was Almeda Shettell.
