1917, June 5th--John Maxwell Moores, age 22 of Muier Station, KY registered for the military. His date of birth was March 31, 1895. He was a natural born native of Lexington, KY; a plumber for the Elmendorf Dairy. He is married with a wife and two children. He is tall and slender with blue eyes and brown hair.

According to the Lexington-Hearld Newspaper, Lexington, KY, Friday, December 29, 1972, John Maxwell Moores, 77, of 224 West Maxwell Street, died Thursday, December 28, 1972, in a local nursing home. He was a retired master plumber, who was born in Lexington, KY. He was the son of the late William Coleman and Lillian Gray Moores. He was survived by his wife (2nd), Lillie Eden Moores, a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Wells, Lexington; one step-son Ernest McDonald, St. Jacobs, Illinois, a step-daughter, Etta Jean Gordy of Enon, Ohio. His son, William Gray died in 1964 and 1st wife Elizabeth died in February, 1972.

John is buried in grave next to sister-in-law, Allene, in the Lexington Cemetery in Section T, Lot 5, Grave 12. At the time of his death he was 77. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home took care of the funeral services.
