Erdice Cooper Court, age 77 of Appleton, WI, formerly of Benton, KY passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at her home in Appleton, WI. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Library Science from Murray State Universtiy and Master of Arts degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Kansas, she taught English for the Marshall County Board of Education at North Marshall and later was an instructor at Murray State University. She also worked for a time at the American Embassy in Moscow, Russia.
Born Sunday, December 28, 1937 in Union City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Avery Bruce Cooper and the late Mayme (Easterwood) Cooper.
Surviving are son, Kevin Court and wife Amy of Benton, KY, daughter, Kerry Thompson and husband Rick of Appleton, WI; and 6 grandchildren, Kiefer Court and Kian Court of Benton, KY, Cooper Thompson, Court Thompson, Avery Thompson and Adeline Thompson all of Appleton, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kelly Court.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Benton with Rev. Dr. Michael Gatton officiating.
Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 2515 Main Street, Benton, KY 42025.
