Mr. Surber lived his entire life 4.5 miles South of Amber where he ranched and was involved in horse racing. He worked for PET Food for 12 years and the Turnpike Authority on the H.E. Bailey Turnpike for 5 years.
He served with the Coast Guard (Navy) during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Burl Surber; and 2 sisters; Verna Mae Lister and Lorene Hart; 4 Grandchildren; Tommy Shane Todd, Cody Gregory, Jeff Foale and Raye Lynn Surber.
Mr. Suber is survived by his children: Betty Gregory, Deanna Carter, Carmen Pittenridge, Donna Barker, John "Bud" Surber and Frank Surber.
A brother, Rondie Lee Surber.
12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
