Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning at the James-Coker-Peters Chapel for Grant Oster, 83, who died Saturday night at 7 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Anderson, 3401 Oneal Street. Mr. Grant (sic) resided at 3514 Caddo Street and had been ill for six months.
Officiating at the service was M.C. Franklin, minister of the Henry Street Church of Christ. Interment was in Forest Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Gibson, Sid Arnold, Harold Holloway, R.H. Ragan, R.L. Horn and Roger Wise.
Mr. Oster had made his home in Greenville for the past five years. He was a native of Braymer, Mo., was born July 12, 1863, and resided in that state for a number of years where he was a successful farmer. He resided in Arkansas and Illinois prior to moving to Greenville.
Mr. Oster was a member of the Henry Street Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge of Storey, Ill.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Walter Anderson, Greenville; one son, James Oster, San Diego, Calif. His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 1942.
