Mr. Cook was stricken as he was coming out the front door to go to the post office. Members of the family heard a thud as he fell to the floor and rushed to his assistance. Medical aid was summoned immediately but Mr. Cook was pronounced dead on the doctor's arrival.
Born at Shippensburg on Nov. 27, 1911, he was the son of Daniel H. and Minnie Jones Cook. He was a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church, the Vigilant Hose Company, and the Cumberland County Firearms Association. He was employed by the Shirtcraft Company.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel H. Cook, Shippensburg, are two brothers and five sisters, Fred Cook, Chambersburg; Albert Cook, Shippensburg; Mrs. Sarah Diehl, Harrisburg; Mrs. Clever Thomas, Carlisle, R. D. 5; Jennie Cook, Mrs. Esther Coldsmith, and Mrs. Anna Belle Misner, all of Shippensburg.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. from the M. Garfield Barbour Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale E. Kline and Rev. Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be made in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening.
