Born Oct. 19, 1912, in Greene County, he was the son of Clyde and Gertie (Bough) Hanson. He was a retired power house engineer for Western Electric. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Acton American Legion Post and Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Fuller) Hanson; two sons, Robert L. Hanson of Fountain Town and Gene L. Hanson of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Revs. Bill Doane and Donald Harmon officiating. Burial will be at Newark Cemetery.
Friends may call 3-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.
