He was born June 19, 1914 in Clarion, UT to Chris and Thalia Childs Michaelson.
Donald received his education in Gunnison, Utah.
On September 3, 1936, he married Sylvia Christensen in the Manti, Utah Temple. She preceded him in death on August 20, 1989. He then married, Adonna Pearl Fransen on January 23, 1990, in Las Vegas, NV.
He lived most of his life in Sterling, Springfield, and Aberdeen area. In his later years, he spent the summers in Leslie, Idaho, and the winters in St. George, Utah.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He enjoyed farming and constructed many homes and cabinets in the Aberdeen area. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Adonna of St. George, UT.; son, Gary (Rhea) Michaelson of Leslie; daughter, Kathleen Hoffer of Yuba City, CA.; brothers, Glee and Robert Michaelson both of Pocatello; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia; a son, Richard Don Michaelson; brothers, Deon, Travis, and Therold Michaelson and sister, Marjorie Horton.
A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the Hawker Funeral Home.
The family met with friends for one hour prior to the service.
Interment was in the Aberdeen Cemetery.
