Ruth F. Cole, age 101, died at the Blakehurst Retirement Community on Friday, January 23, 2015 of natural causes. She had been a resident of Blakehurst since 2001. She only lived in three other houses in Baltimore. As a child she lived with her parents on Linden Avenue in what is now Bolton Hill. As a teenager in 1929 she moved with her parents to Tuscany Road in North Baltimore. After her marriage to A. Lehart Cole she moved with her husband to Rodgers Forge in 1952 where she lived for almost 50 years. Her beloved husband died in 1984. She was born on December 21, 1913, the eldest child of William E. Flynn and Ruth R. McCoy of Baltimore. She entered first grade at the Friends School then located around the corner from her home. She graduated from Friend in 1932. An avid bridge player, she played bridge with some of her classmates from Friends for muck of her life. She was an expert seamstress who made all her clothes as well as those of her two daughters. She also maintained a garden at her home.

She is survived by her children Susan C. Brune, Marjorie C. Wildley, Richard R. Cole all of Baltimore and Peter A. Cole of Timonium. Her son David H. Cole died in 1991. Also surviving her are nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and her brother Paul D. Flynn of Baltimore.
