Fay Winifred Seiler Beck, formerly of Pottstown, passed away Jan. 23 at Garden Spot Village, New Holland.
Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Lavelle, she was a daughter of the late Gustav and Leona Hornberger Seiler.
A graduate of Ashland High School, Class of 1939, she was married for 65 years to the late Burton Beck, originally of Ashland.
Although they never lost their connection to their roots in the coal region, after World War II, Fay and Burton settled in Pottstown, where they lived for 50 years. Burton operated Beck Auto Service and Fay was a dedicated homemaker, maintaining an impeccably clean and inviting home for her family.
In 1995, the Becks relocated to Garden Spot Village to be close to their son and family.
Fay was devoted to her Lord and Savior and was a lifelong faithful member of the Evangelical Congregational Church, in recent years attending St. Paul Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown.
Fay's greatest joy was doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her unconditional love, she will always be fondly remembered for her wonderful Pennsylvania German cooking and baking, most notably her homemade chicken pot pie and huckleberry and lemon sponge pies.
Preceded in death by brothers, George and Joseph; and a sister, Anna Seiler Schoellkopf.
Surviving are a son, John (wife, Joy) Beck, granddaughters, Jillian (husband, Bob) Pisani and Julie Beck and a grandson, Jonathan (wife, Dawn) Beck, all of Lancaster; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew.
Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. Interment was held in Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, had charge of arrangements. Visit www.kullfuneral.com.
