Birth year is an estimate based on the source below.

Jacob (b. ca 1751) was the eighth of ten children of Edward MacGehee (MackGehee) (b. ca 1699/1702 VA – d. ca 1770 VA) and Elizabeth DeJarnette (b. ca 1709 VA – d. after 1783 probably in VA). He was probably born in Cumberland County, Virginia. The source below also states that he died in Oglethorpe County, GA, the county/state where his brother is interred; however, see Ms Marion's floral tribute.

According to the source below, his wife, whom he married ca 1771/76 in Virginia, was probably Mary Ann (Collier?), who survived Jacob and was listed in his will. Mary Ann may have been the third child of Sarah Cox and Benjamin Collier from Virginia.

Children named in the 1805 will of Jacob McGehee:
ღ Edward McGehee (1787 VA - 1814 GA), father of 11 children, Edward Thomas McGehee (#141852279)
ღ Elizabeth McGehee Anderson (ca 1777-1783 - ca 1800 VA)
ღ Sarah McGehee Humphries (1780 VA - 1845 GA)
ღ John McGehee (1789 VA - 1815 GA)
ღ Thomas McGehee (1783 VA - 1853 GA)
ღ James McGehee (1791 VA/GA - 1837 GA)
ღ Samuel McGehee (ca 1781 VA - d. after death of father)
ღ Isaac McGehee (1796 VA/GA - 1875 GA)
ღ Jacob McGehee, Jr (1795 VA/GA - 1872 AL)
ღ Nancy (ca 1798 - after death of father)
ღ George Lewis McGehee (1801/02 GA - 1858 GA)

Jacob is said to have had 14 children. If so, three are presumed deceased by his death in 1805.
