When George was 8, he and his 5 brothers were placed in "The Junior Home for Kids" in Tiffin, Ohio due to the death of both parents. "The Junior Home for Kids" housed hundreds of orphans, and to this day, many of the residents continue to come back every Labor Day weekend to share time with one another.
George enlisted in the Navy, and extended 5 times, making a 21 year career. During his career he was a gunner on the ships and served in World War II and the Korean War. While in the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Floy Virginia Moore on June 6, 1945 in San Bruno, California. She became mother to his 2 children, Elliot Wayne and Linda Joyce Moore. After retiring from the Navy, he began working for the Union Pacific Railroad in his 60s.
George was a humble and grateful man, a loving husband, father, and special friend to many. His sparkling blue eyes and welcoming smile will be truly missed.

He is survived by: daughter, Linda (Len) Bauer; grandchildren, Wayne Elliot and Greg Allen Bauer; and great grandchildren, Austin, Alec, and Ashleigh Bauer.
Services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Cypres
