Charles Edward "Chuck" Armstrong, 88, Twin Falls, passed away on January 20, 2015. He was born on April 9, 1926, to Ellis Armstrong and Lela May (De-James) Armstrong. His mother died when he was 5 years old and he moved to Idaho with his dad.

They settled in Filer, Idaho where he attended school, and later moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where his dad remarried. He gained 6 brothers and a sister (Raymond, Kenny, Monty, Kelly, Jerry, Don, and Karen).

Chuck met the love of his life, Alice May Bertie, at the roller skating rink where they were both floor managers. Chuck and Alice dated for 2 years. Chuck enlisted in the Navy and when he came home from basic training, they were married in the Christian Church.

Chuck served on a LST submarine in the Philippines and Nagasaki, Japan for two years, with an honorable discharge when he started his family. To this family, he had three children, David, Greg, and Teresa.

He worked for Dean Motors and then for Theisen Motors for 10 years. He then started his own business, Chuck's Auto Service, which he had for 12 years when he retired.

Chuck liked to fish, bowl, travel, and square dance. In his retirement years, he spent his winters in Parker, Arizona. Chuck was a life member of the Twin Falls Elk Lodge.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alice; daughter, Teresa; grandchildren, Stacey and Josh; daughter-in-law, Wanda; his brothers and sister; and his dog, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his sons, David and Greg; and his parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Frank Ellis will be officiating.
