Freeman E. Brooks, 89, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Thursday January 22, 2015 at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville, KY.
Mr. Brooks was born July 17, 1925, in Webster County, KY, to the late Lawrence and Mary Jane Hawkins Brooks. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen West Brooks; and three sisters, Grace Crowley Clines, Maude King, and Lorene Neal Lydy.
Mr. Brooks served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Webster County. Besides farming, he worked at Powell Lumber Company in Sebree. Later, he worked at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Madisonville.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Shelby Coomer officiating. Burial will follow at Slaughters Cemetery.
