Lynn married Veda Smith on June 29, 1922 in Teton. They became parents to a son, Ronald. They divorced.
Lynn married Nellie Thelma Fenton on October 23, 1930 in Logan, Utah. They became parents to a son, Lindsey Fenton.
On New Year's Day 1933 Lynn and Nellie started out to visit their parents. They stopped at Lynn's parents' home briefly and while Nellie and the baby waited in the car the weather became colder and it began to snow. Nellie's parents lived in Chester, Idaho. They had to cross railroad tracks to reach the Fenton farm. In those days the trains did not blow the horn as they approached a road that passed over the railroad tracks. The snow was so fierce the young family did not see the light of the approaching train. The train hit the car broad side. Lynn was killed. Nellie was holding the baby, Lindsey, on her lap. The baby was hurt and died the next day.
Nellie was taken to a hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. Her injuries were so severe that later that day she was pronounced dead and put in the basement of the hospital where the dead were kept. A hospital employee went to the basement and saw a movement under a sheet. She screamed and ran upstairs. Nellie was moved to a room. It was a long, hard recovery. (Story of the train accident is from familysearch.org.)
