Kewanee - Patricia A. “Pat” Doss, 76, of rural Kewanee, died at 10:53 AM, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the emergency room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 24 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Pastor Karen Martin and Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 23 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Grace United Methodist Church, the Galva Library or to the Kewanee Animal Shelter.

She was born on February 3, 1938 in Henry County, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Lincoln) Hanson. She married Clifford J. “Babe” Doss on July 22, 1956 in Galva and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Russell. She is survived by three daughters, Barb (Al) Werkheiser of Kewanee, Kathy (Royce) Johnson of Cambridge and Carol Kitterman (Bruce Smith) of Galva, six grandchildren, Wade Werkheiser, Beth (Jay) Hale, Jill Johnson, Matt Johnson, Mitchell Kitterman and Mackenzie Kitterman and a great grandson, Grayson.

Pat graduated from Galva High School in 1956. She had worked with her husband Babe on the family farm for many years that included 34 years of dairying. She had also worked at Galva Furniture Store and as a cook at P.L. Johnson’s in Bishop Hill. She had also been the principle organist at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she had been the organist for many years as well as an active member of its church board and committees. She enjoyed reading, cooking and bowling. She had been a member of the Galva Women’s Club and had helped at the Tutoring Center. She enjoyed her life on the farm that included riding her lawn mower and her dog, Lilly. She was proud of her children and the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
