Our beloved mother, Annie Abeyta was called to rest by our good Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Annie was a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Annie was born in San Geronimo, New Mexico, to Antonio Abeyta and Catarina Santillanes Abeyta on March 3, 1926.
Annie was preceded in death by her father and mother, four brothers, Ramon Abeyta, Manuel Abeyta, Arturo Abeyt and Luis Abeyta, two brothers-in-law, James Lynn and Howard McKee and two sisters-in-laws, Albina Abeyta and Mary Abeyta.
Annie is survived by two sisters, Adelina Lynn from Kingman, Arizona and Cecilia McKee of Las Vegas Nevada, daughters, Della Gonzáles and her husband, John of Las Vegas NM, Cathy Benavidez and her husband, Tony of Montezuma NM, Martha Sandoval of Albuquerque NM and Tony Abeyta and his wife, Martha of Santa Fe, NM, grandchildren, Martin, Francesca and Jeremias Gonzáles, Melissa "Missy" Lucero, Avedona Lucero, James Stevens and Breana Abeyta, great-grandchildren, Mario, Jacklyn, Adela, Shelamar, Amanda, Kalea and Ashana Gonzáles, Angelica and Feliz Romero, Ahrizza, Ariel, Asjann and Alexis Hentsch, Makayla Hope and Brandon and Javier Gonzáles. Annie is also survived by fourteen great-great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces, which she loved dearly.
Annie was born in San Geronimo NM and moved to Las Vegas, NM in 1944. Annie was a life long Catholic and member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Annie was a talented well known and self taught seamstress. Annie loved to make jellies, can food, embroider and quilt blankets. Annie won several state fair ribbons with her many talents and hobbies. Annie also enjoyed reading, listening to the Spanish radio station and dancing.
Honorary pallbearers are Tony Abeyta, Tony Benavidez, Martin Gonzáles, James Stevens, Avedona Lucero, Breana Abeyta, Johnny Santillanes, Estevan Coca, special cousins, Elvira Benavidez and Gloria Santillanes and niece, Della Coca. Annie will be dearly missed by everyone she touched. Te amamos Annie.
