Anna Aliene Dudney Flatt Majors Chaffin

Anna Aliene Chaffin , 93, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, just about two weeks before her 94th birthday.
She lived the last two years of her life in Cleveland, Georgia with her daughter and family. Anna Aliene Dudney was born to this life on November 27, 1915, to Alec Cowan Dudney and Sarah Francis Pippin Dudney in Jackson County, Tennessee, in the Shiloh Community.
The Nashville, Tennessee area claimed her for over 40 years of her adult life before she returned to the land and the people that always drew her back.
She always made time to care for and to help those who needed her. She would go without herself, if need be, so she could give to someone else.
She loved flowers and making things grow, but what she cherished most in her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Chaffin is survived by her daughter,
Mara Majors Joyce, and son-in law, Edward W. Joyce;
granddaughter, Brina Anjanette Joyce;
grandsons: Jarrett Bruce Joyce; Keith Brett Joyce and wife, Jacqui Lancaster Joyce;
her great grandchildren: Edward Connor Joyce, Hannah Vereen Joyce, and
Liam Aaron Joyce.
Mrs. Chaffin was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands - Mackie D Flatt,
Melvin Glen Majors and Lewis K Chaffin;
her twin brother, Ernest Clyde Dudney;
two sisters Erma Adell Lynch and Ara Lois Gentry.
Graveside service and interment at John Young Cemetery on November, 7, 2009.
Bro. Ken Haney will conduct the service.

The family has requested memorial gifts be made to the John Young Cemetery Fund, in care of the John Young Cemetery Fund, 810 Seven Knobs Rd, Gainesboro, TN 38562.
Mrs. Chaffin spent many years caring for this family cemetery and it was her dream to make it self sustaining for future generations.
