Duveen Louise Mitchell, age 80 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 in her home. Duveen was preceded in death by her husband Frank Mitchell, her brother Don Kaser and her parents Leo and Beulah Kaser. Duveen is survived by her four children: her son Michael Mitchell and his wife J.J. and their children, Jacob, Jessica, Jamie, Gretchen and Kevin; her daughter Cindy Martin and her husband John and their children Olivia, Jillian, John and Mitchell; her daughter Sherri Dupuis and her husband Dale and their daughter, Danica; her son Shaun Mitchell and his wife Chivonne and their daughters, Taya and Elise. As a young woman, Duveen graduated from Paseo High School and attended Central Missouri State Teachers College where she was a sister in the Delta Zeta Sorority. Duveen dedicated her life to the loving, caring and nurturing of others. She was a longtime, active member of the Terrace Lake United Methodist Church and was an avid supporter of many charitable organizations including the local chapters of the National M.S. Society, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, the American Diabetes Association and numerous organizations for the health and welfare of animals. Her absence will be deeply felt by all. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 23, at the Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., with a visitation at 12:00 PM directly preceding the service. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Terrace Lake United Methodist Church or the local chapter of the National M.S. Society.
