DIES FOLLOWING A LONG ILLNESS - Mrs. Minnie A. Roop, 73, Passes Away at Auburn Hospital - Funeral Services to be Wednesday

Mrs. Minnie A. Roop, 73, wife of Elmer Roop of Rt. 1, Auburn, died at the Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Roop had been in failing health for the past 15 years and entered the hospital three days before her death. She succumbed to a complication of ailments.

She was born Oct. 6, 1892, in Jackson township, DeKalb county, and had resided at her late home for the past 10 years. She was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Laura Lockwood Pendland.

In a ceremony performed Oct. 21, 1912, she and Mr. Roop were married at the Methodist church in Auburn. She was a member of the Meese Chapel church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, William Roop of 201 East First street, Auburn; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Fugate of 218 Wilson street, Auburn and Mrs. Durward Fugate of Rt. 1, Auburn; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Pendland of Grand Rapids, Mich., and four sisters, Mrs. Arch Dunn of Spencerville, Mrs. John Miller of Battle Creek, Mich., Mrs. Leonard Leroux of Muskegon, Mich., and Mrs. Jesse Haskins of Wyoming, Mich.

Two other brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

The body is at the Dilgard & Cline funeral home in Auburn, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Castro Ball, a former pastor of the First Baptist church in Auburn who now is associated with the Baptist church's Towne House in Fort Wayne, will officiate at the services with burial following in Roselawn cemetery, near Auburn.
