The Reverend Charles Beecher Barr, 85, Cameron died on December 13, 2006.

Rev. Barr was born August 28, 1921 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Manning Granville and Wretha (Talbott) Barr.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Cameron and Phi Beta Kappa.

Rev. Barr served as an area minister for over 20 years for the Southeast Gateway Area of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mid America. He also served other churches in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Barr and two sisters, Edna Barr and Thelma Lauris.

On April 2, 1944, Charles married Martha Bernhart in Champaign, Illinois. She survives of the home.

Additional Survivors: Two sons, Allan Barr of Kansas City, Missouri, Wayne Barr, of Springfield, Virginia; three daughters, Mrs. Carol Rippe of Fairview, Kansas, Mrs. Vivian Pinegar, of State Central, Iowa, and Mrs. Pat Howard of Greers Ferry, Arkansas.

Rev. Barr had 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services were held December 22, 2006 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Cameron.

The body has been bequeathed to the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine.
