Obituary:
Services for Alta Coffey, 73, of Fruithurst, were Sunday, December 24, at 3 p.m. at Upper Cane Creek Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Parker, Rev. Richard Crowson and Rev. Don Carroll officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Dryden Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Coffey of Fruithurst; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas [Bertha] Boozer and Mrs. Harold [Betty Jean] Nolen, both of Heflin, and Mrs. Ed [Ora Belle] Cowan of Childersburg; three sons, Dewayne Coffey of Anniston, Leon Coffey of Anniston and Virgil Coffey of Fruithurst; a sister, Mrs. Marlow Robinson of Tallapoosa, Georgia; a brother, Charlie Coffee of Marietta, Georgia; 22 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Pallbearers were grandsons.
Mr. Coffee was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County and a retired farmer. He was a member of Coldwater Baptist Church.
