Mr. B.R. Ashbrook, an old and well known citizen, a short distant east of Linneus, on the 19th of October, aged 72 years. He was born in Virginia and moved to Linn county 43 years ago. The Linneus Bulletin speaking of his death says: "He has always been looked upon as a kind, upright, energetic and industrious farmer, and in his death his wife loses a kind and attentive husband, the family an indulgent and affectionate father and the community a useful and valuable member." Mr. Ashbrook was a member of the Baptost church, and was one of the fifteen who organized the Locus Creek Baptist church forty years ago. His disease was of the nature of erysipelas, and his sickness lasted two weeks.
