Mash, John A. (1939-2011)
John passed away at home, peacefully in his sleep, early Wednesday morning January 26th, 2011.
Born in Ottawa on July 4th, 1939 to parents John and Ada Mash (both deceased).
John joined the Ontario Provincial Police and was posted to Elk Lake, Ontario in 1963 where he met his wife, Sandra McKay. They moved to North Bay in 1969 where John continued his service as an O.P.P. officer.
John is survived by his brother Edward Mash as well as his devoted wife Sandy (nee McKay) and his loving children Tania Gagnon (Dave), Shana Sullivan (Jeff), Kristi Smith (Greg) and David Mash (Erin), as well as 8 grandchildren: Jacob, Tanner, Courtney, Morgan, Hanna, Ben, Charley and Ronan. He was predeceased by siblings Ernie Mash and Gordon Mash.
Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Friday January 28th from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday January 29th at 10 am at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged by his family
