Harold served and defended his country with the United States Air Force.
He also served his community as a firefighter and retired as Assistant Fire Chief of Denham Springs Fire Department. Finally and most importantly, he served his Lord through being a charter member of Southside Baptist Church, Denham Springs where he not only built the body of the church, but the building as well with his carpenter skills. At the age of 70, Harold answered the call of missions and worked with the Nicaraguan Christian Outreach, making several trips for the next 15 years to Nicaragua and helping in the needs of the people. Harold was a man of country, community, church and family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Monday, Jan. 19, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Southside Baptist Church, Denham Springs, Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Don Hoy. Burial will be at Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Alene Barron; children, Arborea "Abby" Bigner and husband, Michael, Vanessa Barnett and husband, Steven, and Brian Barron and wife, Sherry Woolery Barron; grandchildren, Tamara Bigner, Derek Barnett and wife, Shelby, and Trent Barnett and wife, Brittany; great-grandchildren, Maggie, Caroline, and Brooke Barnett; and his sister, Brenda Barron Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irma Rushing Barron; and two brothers, Leroy and Charles Barron.
