Mrs. Jean Gladys Worthington Bailey, age 83, passed away on January 14, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The native of Liverpool, England was the daughter of the late William and Edith Worthington. She met Herbert Bailey while he was stationed in England and soon they married and traveled with his military career. They retired to Orlando, Fl and she relocated to Melbourne, Fl in 2000, following his death. In 2008 she moved to Birmingham, Al and in 2013 she moved to Cincinnati where she resided until her death.
Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Herbert Howell Bailey.
Surviving are her four children, Phillip Bailey of Birmingham, Al, Laura Griffith of Cincinnati, OH, Karen Bailey of Athens, OH and Sharon Huff of Richmond, VA; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Worthington and three nephews.
The family will receive visitors at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro on Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Immediately following the visitation there will be a graveside service at Brannen Family Cemetery with Rev. Hollie Tapley officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Brannen Family Cemetery Fund, 4455 Westside Road, Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
