JoAnn Candland, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 18, 1933 in American Fork, Utah, to Blaine and Viola Clements. She grew up in a family of 12 children. 4 boys and 8 girls. She attended school In American Fork, Utah. She married John M. Candland on July 23, 1952. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. She was a mother to 4 children, Larry, Bill, Cathy and Cindy. After raising her children, she went to work at Lindon Care And Training Center. She was employed there for 12 years. Later in life, JoAnn recently enjoyed working at the Jacob's Senior Center in Pleasant Grove, Ut. JoAnn, along with John, have been residents of Pleasant Grove, Ut for 49 years.
JoAnn loved to shop, bake, she loved poodles, sewing, and putting smiles on people's faces. JoAnn loved, and was loved by everyone she met. She was an extremely courageous woman, and was an inspiration to all she came in contact with.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, John M. Candland. Her children,8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and her pal, Taz. Preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and her step father.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16,2015 at 11a.m. in the Grove Ward LDS Chapel, 400 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Family and friends may also attend an evening viewing Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah.
