She was born April 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Albert and Violet (Fent) Johnson, and grew up in the Hillsboro area.
She married Everett "Bill" Cramton in 1948 and raised her family in Lynchburg. He preceded her in death in 1982.
She worked for many years at Lynchburg Processing, then worked as a home health aid for the elderly and also provided day care for children for many years. She enjoyed flower gardening, dancing, her pets and spending time with her family.
Jean will be missed for many reasons. Her many words of wisdom, early morning wake-up calls, cooking tips, her home-cooked meals (especially her chicken and noodles) and the love she shared with everyone she knew.
She is survived by six children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister of Wilmington.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cody Massey; a sister, Virginia Heizer; and two brothers, Jim and Bill Johnson.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at the Lynchburg Cemetery. Leo Kuhn will officiate. There will be no public visitation.
The Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg is serving the family.
