Graveside services for Laura Cecile Hodgson, 97, of Ardmore were Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Paul McDowell.
Born November 15, 1902, at Dexter, Texas, Mrs. Hodgson died December 17, 1999, in an Ardmore hospital. She was the daughter of George Andrew and Mattie Elizabeth McDaniel Copeland.
Mrs. Hodgson grew up in Loves Valley and attended school there. She obtained a life teaching certificate from Southeastern State Teachers College and taught elementary school in Love County for nine years.
She is survived by a daughter, Vel Perry of Stillwater; a brother, Claude Copeland of Salem, Oregon; four granddaughters, Michele Panick of Edmond, Marilyn Berry of Cashion, Robyn Coe of Glendale, California, and Rebecca Perry of Alameda, California; seven great-greandchildren, Matthew, Chad and Brett Berry of Cashion, Chris Panick of Edmond, Michele Elliott of Edmond, and Wyatt and Laura Coe of Glendale.
Mrs. Hodgson was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Lamont Hodgson; and nine brothers and sisters.
Services were under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore
