Andrew Emmanuel Dahlberg, son of Martin and Johanna Dahlberg, was born at Melrose, Minn., on April 10, 1892. He grew to manhood there and moved with his parents to Douglas county in Belle River township. He was united in marriage to Sophie Walters on Sept. 21. 1920. Four children were born to this union: Evelyn (Mrs. Reuben Nelson) of Osakis; Clinton of Nelson; Donald of St. Louis, Mo.; and Corrine (Mrs. Russell Swanson) of Denver, Colo. He died at his home Friday, Oct. 25, 1963 at the age of 71 years, 6 months and 15 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his four children, nine grandchildren and two sisters, Agnes (Mrs. John Berglund) of Alexandria and Ellen (Mrs. Wm. Jung) of Osakis. His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1951. He was active in civic affairs, serving on the school board for over 20 years, six years on the town board and five years on the Douglas County Selective Service Board. He was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of the Carlos American Legion Post and a member of the American Legion Post of Alexandria.
