He was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of Lloyd and Dorothy (Betz) Barcus. He married Janet Silverwood on Sept. 27, 1975, and she survives.
Paul previously owned and operated a Sohio gas station. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and was an Indians and Browns fan.
Surviving are his wife, Janet; sons, Paul E. Barcus Jr. of London, Ohio, Patrick (Chong) Barcus of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Orville Barcus of Sandusky; daughter, Jacqueline (Todd) Johnson of Fremont; grandchildren, Nicole Clifton, Corey Paul Barcus, Chase Barcus, Alex Barcus, Heather Barcus, Andrew Barcus, Amelia Barcus, Ethan Garcia, Olen Barcus, Brittany Johnson and Devin Johnson; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Houck of Gallipolis, Richard (Molly) Barcus of Norwalk, Lloyd Barcus of Norwalk; sister, Patty (Dan) Artino of Sandusky; and stepmother, Dorothy Barcus of Vickery, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Eural Houck; father, Lloyd Barcus; and sister, Laura Hoover.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, Ohio.
