Services for Aleta Gray, 75, were Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Eastman Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Cox and Rev. Rick Sowell officiating.
Born September 28, 1917, in Love County, Mrs. Gray died September 28, 1992, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. She was the daughter of Bill and Eula Carlile Cox.
Mrs. Gray had lived in Love County all of her life and was a homemaker. She married J.B. Gray, Sr. April 14, 1933, at Wilson. Mrs. Gray was of the Assembly of God faith.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, J.B. and Patti Gray of Gainesville, Texas, Ricky and Tracy Gray of Greenville, Texas, Randy Gray of Marietta, and Greg Gray of De Soto, Texas; five daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Louis Henderson of Burneyville, Celestine Gray of Ardmore, Patricia and Mel Knight of Ponca City, Loretta and Glen Sterns of Moore, and Linda Gray of Hollywood, Florida; five brothers, Jack Cox, Hap Cox, Bob Cox, and Dean Cox of Ardmore, and Jim Cox of Plano, Texas; four sisters, Faye McComber and Sue Chambers of Ardmore, Billie Griffin of Oswalt, and Joann Hyder of Wilson; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by her husband on January 24, 1979; two sons, Carol Mac Gray in 1954 and Cary Lance Gray in 1972; a sister, Juanita Dane; and two brothers, Delbert Cox and Punch Cox.
Interment was in the Oswalt Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson-Kennedy Funeral Home. Serving as casket bearers were Jimmy Gale Tynes, Billy Frank Griffin, Mike Cox, Larry Buck, Danny Gray, and O.L. Gray. Honorary bearers were Gale Cox, Darrell Cox, Kenny Dane, and Chris Cox.
