Esther was born on March 16, 1925 to Rudolph and Ida (Brey) Anklam. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in the Emmaus Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind, Waupaca, County. Esther was united in marriage on January 29, 1944 to Lester “Bud” Koehler. Bud and Esther loved golfing and camping with their family and friends. Esther also enjoyed reading and she baked the Best Buns Ever!
Esther was a member of Riverside Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton.
She is survived by her 5 children; Phyllis (Richard) Luepke of Ewen, MI, Larry Koehler of Williams, AZ, Susan (Robert) Kohl of Appleton, James (Kathy) Koehler of Appleton, and Jerry (Sharon) Koehler of Appleton, by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister; Lillian Virgin and Ona (Delmar) Schoenich. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Lester “Bud” on October 23, 2000, also by her parents Rudolph and Ida, and by her in-laws Clarence and Lydia Koehler, and by her brother Gilbert (Marie) Anklam, and brother-in-law Floyd Virgin, and also by one great-granddaughter.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church 136 W. Seymour St. Appleton, with Pastor Dennis Belter officiating. Burial will take place at Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield.
