Asa Coates, 65, a farmer, died in a Salt Lake hospital Saturday evening after a lingering illness.
He was born here September 2, 1867, a son of George and Emily Coates. He was well known as a farmer throughout this county and for several years operated an implement store here. He married Hilda Larson in Salt Lake February 8, 1893.
Surviving are six sons and two daughters,; George A., Nels, LeRoy, Grant, Asner, Lavern Coates. Mrs. Ruth Goates Allred and Mrs. Ione Coates Shannon. Six grandchildren.
