Ronald "Ron" Ping, 75, of Palmetto, Florida (formerly of Pittsboro, Indiana), passed away, Thesday, January 6, 2015. A celebration of life will be held at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Buckner officiating on a date to be announced. Please check the church website at www.pittsboroumc.org for the date and time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or through the Phi Beta Psi Sorority in care of Julie Mardis, PO Box 14, Pittsboro, IN 46167.

Ron was born March 4, 1939 in Acorn, Kentucky to Clebert and Faustene (Mayfield) Ping. He graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1958. On June 26, 1960 he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Hendricks in Pittsboro. Ron was employed as manager for the town of Pittsboro and retired from that position. He and his wife enjoyed their retired life in Florida and traveling back to Pittsboro to visit family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce and their two children, Rhonda (Ping) Miller and her husband Ric, Steve Ping and his wife Shari (Roseboom) Ping; four grandchildren, Aaron and Amanda Miller, Brittney Ping and Tara (Ping) Bowman and her husband Jake; and great-granddaughter Guinevere Bowman.
