Her funeral service was Saturday, January 17th at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Riverside Cemetery.
Beverly was born on December 18, 1933 in Gettysburg, SD to Edwin and Dora (Merrill) Archer. She graduated from high school in Gettysburg in 1951 and later that year was united in marriage to Art Allerdings on December 26, 1951. They farmed in the Mobridge area for several years and then moved to Huron. Beverly worked for many years at Lincoln and Washington Elementary schools in Huron and Huron College. She was a devoted mother to her children and was very active in their activities. Her children’s friends considered her “their second mom”.
Beverly was a very gifted artist who excelled at pastel portraits, oil painting, and drawing. She was very creative and pursued many crafts. She also enjoyed decorating, refinishing furniture, gardening, animals, and playing the piano.
She is survived by two sons, Craig Allerdings of Watertown and Dana Allerdings of Viborg; 2 daughters, Lynette (John) Korbel of Watertown and Leanne (Duane) Roy of Huron; 6 grandchildren, Brooke, Austin, Johnnie, Megan, Lyndsey, and Braden; 6 great grandchildren, and her longtime companion, David Locken of Watertown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art in 1984, and 1 brother Marvin.
