After Blanche's mother died in 1906, she and her sister Ethel went to live with Charles & Hannah Burton. He was a civil engineer in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Blanche and Ethel are listed as "lodgers" at the Burton's in the 1910 census. The Burtons raised them and considered the girls their daughters.

According to newspaper reports in December of 1917, Blanche Burton married William A. Foerster (or Forrester or Forester) in Whitesburg, KY. They divorced in Texas sometime after the birth of their daughter, Mary in 1920, then remarried in 1922. By 1924, they were divorced again as Blanche then married Ralph L. Gillham in April of that year. She and Ralph are listed in the 1930 U.S. Census in Dallas, Texas, along with her daughter Mary. Ralph died unexpectedly in 1932.

In 1935, Blanche Gillham married Earl Rodrick McGraw. He had lost his first wife in 1926. They remained together until their deaths
