Born in Easley, S.C., daughter of the late Ernest William Aiken and Eva Osteen Aiken Gray, she was a housewife and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one son, Warren Hughes, Jr., (Brenda); four daughters, Emily Cottengim (David), Janis Glover (Rick), Lee Ann Leverette (Steven) and Margaret Madewell (Alan); one sister Lillian Bruce; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hughes was predeceased by two grandsons.
Graveside services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Park conducted by Dr. Chris Gray.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice/ McCall Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, S.C. 29680.
