APOPLEXY TAKES FORMER OFFICIAL

William Burr Kring, former Hancock county commissioner, died at 6:45 o'clock Wednesday evening at his home in Marion township from a stroke of apoplexy suffered earlier in the day. He was 73 years old.

Mr. Kring apparently had been in good health and had been working as usual. He was stricken about 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon just after dinner, and died without regaining consciousness.

He was born Feb. 25, 1869, in Marion township and had lived practically his entire life in Hancock county. His parents were Lafayette and Mary (Essex) Kring.

Mr. Kring was married July 22, 1888, to Laura Altman who survives. They would have observed their 54th wedding anniversary this summer.

Besides his wife, Mr. Kring is survived by eight children, one sister, three brothers, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The children are Mrs. S. L. Burson, RFD 3; Oliver A. Kring, RFD 2; Mrs F. F. Ebersole, Arcadia; Mrs. C. H. Weigle, Roaring Springs, Pa.; Miss Estella Kring, at home; David Kring, at home; William L. Kring, RFD 3, and Leonard Kring, RFD 3.

Mrs. Jennie Casey, of Leipsic, is a sister and the brothers are S. H. Kring, of Findlay; O. T. Kring, of Upper Sandusky; Charles Kring, of Toledo.

Another brother, Phillip Arthur Kring, preceded him in death.

Mr. Kring, a farmer and dairyman, served two terms as county commissioner. He was elected first in 1924 and then re-elected in 1928. He was a Republican.

He also served as a trustee of Marion township for a number of years. He operated a dairy for some time and was a rural mail carrier for four years.

Mr. Kring was a member of the Bethlehem United Brethren church. He belonged to the Maccabee lodge.

Funeral services were held at the Bethlehem U. B. church with Rev. Paul Walters and Rev. Russell Hawk officiated. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery.

Coldren Funeral Home handed the arrangements.
