Rev. Capps was the first pastor of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas from 1889 to 1891. He married Martha Phegley and after her death he married Margaret Hale. One of his and Martha's children was Annie Capps who married Claude Henry Garrett, great-grandfather of my husband. Rev. Capps served as pastor in other areas of Texas. He also served in the CSA.
